Westwood Shipping Lines Acquisition by Swire Shipping Completed

In April, we shared the news that Westwood’s owner had entered into an agreement with Swire Shipping to acquire Westwood Shipping Lines, and we noted our genuine enthusiasm for what it could bring to our company and our customers. Today, we are letting you know that the sale has received regulatory approval, the transaction has closed, and that we will be working with Swire Shipping’s support and resources to better serve you.

This is a positive outcome for all of us. With ownership that has shipping at its core, we will combine our new owners’ strengths with Westwood’s independent operation to serve customers safely, reliably, personally, and locally. The synergies and capabilities with containers, networks, and projects will elevate Westwood’s operations to benefit customers. In the meantime, Westwood will continue to provide its current services with its strong team of professionals in Canada, China, Japan, Korea, and the US. Senwa Maritime Agency, Ltd., will continue to serve as Westwood’s general agent in Japan, along with Hyop Woon International Co., Ltd., its long-time agent in Korea.
