Revised Tariff Rule - Free Time and Demurrage in North America

Dear Valued Customer:
Westwood Shipping Lines is providing advance notice of change to the free time and demurrage tariff rule in North America.
Effective March 14, 2022, March 21, 2022, Tariff 032, Rule #17, Free Time and Demurrage in North America, Section 3 will be updated to include demurrage and/or per-diem charges. The free time will commence at 07:00 a.m. on the first business day after container discharges from a vessel.

Free Time Allowed:
For Dry Cargo: 7 calendar days
For Reefer Cargo: 4 calendar days
For Special Equipment: 4 calendar days
For cargo discharge or Customs Clearance at ports at Vancouver, BC:
Free Time Allowed:
For Dry Cargo: 5 calendar days
For Reefer Cargo: 2 calendar days
For Special Equipment: 2 calendar days

Westwood demurrage charge applies in addition to the terminal operator charges as outlined in section 2b of Free-Time rule. **Update** Everett operator charges will continue to apply per Port of Everett tariff.
